Chiltern Inn is a sophisticated bed and breakfast featuring spacious rooms, unique common areas, floral gardens, original art, and plenty of amenities. Lovingly re-designed from the historic stable and carriage house of an ambassador's estate, the Chiltern Inn has been featured in Country Inns (August '98), Leading Estates of the World (no. 174), and Home and Garden TV's If Walls Could Talk.

The 1906 Edwardian Shingle Style has been completely rebuilt with superb attention to detail, featuring cherry wood floors and soaring ceilings. Chiltern is located on a quiet gardened lot, within walking distance to Compass Harbor of Acadia National Park, and a leisurely 7 minute sidewalk stroll to the Bar Harbor village green, together with all the shops, restaurants, galleries, museums, and nightlife.

Our amenities include an art gallery, a home theater, and an indoor spa that includes a 32 foot lap pool, and an 8 person hot tub. We are steps from the tennis courts, less than two miles from the renowned Kebo Valley golf course, and of course, we are on an island, so the ocean is practically everywhere you turn. Whale watching, sea kayaking, bicycling, hiking, and national park tours are all nearby.
